Jack
Yunits ran for mayor with a plan and a vision of how to make
Brockton a better city. It has been a pleasure to work with
such a qualified and enthusiastic person on state issues. Jack
Yunits is a real Champion!

"As the President of the
South Shore Haitians United for Progress "SHUP", I am in daily contact with a large segment of the Haitian community and I can
say that as a whole the community thinks that Mr. Yunits is doing an
excellent job in his position as The Mayor of the City of Brockton. His
visibility in the community and steps for the betterment of the different
ethnic groups ...strengthen the confidence we have in him as Mayor of the
City of Champions." Fred

Mayor Yunits is a man of great integrity. He has not forgotten where he came from, where he is going and those who have and will continue to help shape his place in the history of Brockton.
O Prefeito Yunits é um homém de grande integridade. Ele não se esqueceu ded onde veio, onde ele quer ir e de aqueles que o ajudou e continuarão a ajudá-lo no seu acento na história de Brockton.

There is
no doubt that affordable housing is a critical need in
Brockton. Working with the BRA and Jack (Yunits), we are
confident that the foundation we have put in place together, can
support future solutions that will provide Brockton residents with
the best housing options possible. In short, when we measure
Yunits collaboration with the BHA, he earns another "A."

"For the past year or so it seems like wherever I go in Brockton there are changes...our Mayor, Jack Yunits, has been performing miracles on our very streets...a beautiful new Courthouse, beautiful huge schools with play yards we could never have imagined
having... breaking ground for a beautiful new park on White Ave. This is only to mention a few of his magical tricks...we are getting ready for his best yet, something close to my
heart... a Stadium and Conference Center. I know in a few years we'll look back with pride on this CITY THAT JACK BUILT. We're not only the City of Champions, but we have a heavyweight leading
us... our Mayor, Jack Yunits."

"When Jack Yunits came into office, I said the priority for us is a new home for the seniors. I've been chairman for fourteen years and had been working for 14 years for a new home. We were in an undertaker's parlor at the time. Jack said before I leave office you seniors will have a new home. As time went by he said I have the money for your new home - one and a half million dollars from the lottery (no taxpayers money involved). We were so appreciative that the Board decided to name the center for Jack Yunits. But, he declined, asking that we name it for 'somebody else more worthy.' I was surprised and didn't agree with him. Then, he asked that we name it for Mary Cruise Kennedy. That was very unusual politically, I'll tell you that. The seniors and myself thank the mayor for keeping his promise. He is a man of his word."

Jack Yunits is the best thing that ever happened to this city of Brockton. This man did a great job following through with the plans that were started by the previous mayor and following them through completion. Such as Schools, The Senior Center, The Court House etc. When Mayor Yunits came into my store he complimented me on the great job I was doing along with the Campello Business Assoc. and nick named me "The Unofficial Mayor Of Campello" by planting 52 trees on Main St. in Campello. He lifted my spirits so high by saying "this is only the beginning." I need your help and the help from every citizen so we can make this city the best city to live, work and play in. I believe in this man. I am a very proud citizen to say "I live in Brockton and Jack Yunits is my mayor." I know when he sets
his mind to something he has his heart and sole in it. We all need to pitch in and help him and one another keeping this the "City Of Champions."

Mayor John T. Yunits, Jr. is very supportive to the Brockton
Commission on Women's Issues. He is dedicated to the many causes we
support in the community. If he is unable to participate in a function, the Mayor will send representation in his absence with a cordial correspondence of encouragement.
He has stepped up to the plate in support of developing protocols and conferences on the Impact of Domestic Violence in the Workplace. Mayor Yunits and his wife Lees have spearheaded our kickoffs for Breast Cancer Awareness
through the month of October.
He has assisted the City of Champions to be recognized as an important player, not only in Southeastern Mass., but also throughout the whole
state.
